Four Pedestrians Hit By Car

Posted on February 20, 2013 in Personal Injury

According to a recent article published by The Press Enterprise, a pedestrian accident left three injured and a toddler dead. Police have stated that the toddler was killed and three older people were hurt when the group was hit by a sedan while crossing a dark Riverside street. The details of the crash are still being investigated, but the crash was reported at 4:56 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, in front of a liquor store off of Indiana Avenue. The street was blocked off for most of the night between Racine and Erie drives so that police could investigate the scene and find any helpful details. It did not take long for officials to determine that a woman, a 16-year-old girl, and two toddlers were crossing Indiana Avenue approximately half a block from the liquor store's parking lot, according to Sgt. Dan Reeves. Reeves had stated, "There's no crosswalk. They got struck by the westbound vehicle." The toddler who survived was immediately taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was soon after transferred to Loma Linda Children's Hospital. The 16-year-old girl was hospitalized in stable condition. There was no word on the condition of the older woman, however, but she was taken to Riverside County Medical Center in Moreno Valley immediately. The names of the four victims are currently unavailable. Details of the crash are still trying to be worked out, as well as details of the relationship of the victims.
