Woman Walking to Scene of Accident, Hit by Car

Posted on December 02, 2012 in Personal Injury

During the afternoon of Friday, November 16th, a man was in a car accident near Woodward Avenue in Lemont. The man was not hurt, but he needed to wait for a tow truck to collect his car. He was waiting with a State Trooper as he called his girlfriend for a ride. Yet, his accident was not the only one on that day. Around 5:25 pm, his girlfriend came to the accident scene. While the man and woman were walking back to her car, she was hit by an incoming car. The force of the hit ended up throwing the girl from the southbound lanes of traffic into the northbound lanes. No vehicles hit the woman after she landed in the opposite lanes of traffic. The car, which hit the woman, continued to drive after the car accident. It only stopped after it ran into the squad car on the scene and injured the officer inside. The woman was taken to nearby Advocate Lutheran General in Downers Grove. She was listed in critical condition. The state trooper was treated at a local hospital and later released. At this time, not much is known about the circumstances leading up to the second, almost deadly accident. If you have been injured in an accident, you may be able to recoup for the damages caused. If you have missed income, have hospital bills, or even experienced mental pain and anguish, contact a skilled personal injury attorney in DuPage County today.
